Thought this would fit DSi lite but apparently there’s a difference with DSi. Connections are in different locations and and overall is too large so fit is very loose. Suggest a line in the description that this does not fit the DSi Lite.
If people are wondering this Silicone skin doesn’t do a thing beyond keep your DS from getting scratched up like the previous reviewer said. It isn’t for protecting your DSi from getting dropped or anything else. I just bought it myself and don’t see me using it beyond that. I would go and buy something that costs a little bit more because when it comes drop protection. Your DSi deserves a whole lot better than this contraption.
This product, skin, helps extend the life of the dsi. It cushions dsi when it falls. Daughter has one on old ds which have asted for years. I was glad to see they made one for new dsi too.
This is going back. I can’t believe they even sell this as a silicone skin designed for the DSi. Yes, all the holes line up and it fits, but it is super loose and made from a very thin silicone that feels like tissue paper. It is so loose that putting it in my purse and taking it out again shifts the skin all around and I have to reposition it. Don’t dare drop your DSi in this skin and expect any type of protection (I didn’t buy it for that tho, mostly for scratch-proofing). BUT…it won’t keep your DSi scratch-proof because it fits so loosely…stuff can get in between the skin and your DSi and get stuck there then causing scratches because it is loose and wobbles all around your DSi. What a horrible product!
This is a silicone skin for the DSi. It fits snug and adds color and grip. It protects the surface from scratches.
It does not cover the camera lens or protect the screens.
With the cover on, it does leave the DSi a tiny bit more open than it was pre-skin, but the silicone is thin enough that I don’t worry about stuff getting in there.
Yes, the hinges gap when the cover is open, but there’s no way to avoid that unless you’re using a hard-shell cover with a true hinge.
There are a couple of thin straps that move around some and may be knocked off when the DSi is open, but the fit is generally snug and tight. I’ve never had to worry about my DSi slipping out of the skin. If the DSi is closed, there’s no way that skin is coming off.
I carry my DSi in my briefcase where it may be subjected to various kinds of abuse, and this skin gives me a little assurance that it will not be scratched up when I get it out to play on breaks. It also makes the game feel more secure in my hands, and I’m not worried about dropping it.
